File Under Old School: Spin Art

Oh, how I loved you little Spin Art machine.  I spent hours sitting on the sidewalk in front of my house just spinning, spinning.  Creating little rainbow-colored postcards.  Conning the younger neighborhood kids into buying them for whatever they could afford.  Good times.

Shoe Line-Up

I was perusing Anthropologie's fabulously whimsical site, as I usual do late at night, and came across this image on their main shoe page. For some reason, I'm just totally amused by it. Funny how the slightest rotation of a shoe can create so much personality. If you ask me, it was the blue boot...in the closet, with the rope. I guess in a shoe line-up, my "Most Wanted" would be:

So hot, yet so elusive. The search continues for affordable motorcycle boots...

Sole Mates

Bare your "sole" with these great little Louboutin "Love" flats (available at www.net-a-porter.com). Quirky, yet romantic. These shoes make me smile.

Not Your Granny's Bag

Came across these incredible Marc Jacobs bags online. The chain detailing and tassels are old school, reminiscent of that classic quilted Chanel bag, but done in bright, unconventional color combinations and python (ok, not such a fan of python) these handbags are definitely a fresh, fun twist on a classic. Plus, they're just plain fun to look at!

zack morris lives.

this is awesome.

definitely had the fattest crush on the guy when i was still sporting double-velcro reebok hi-tops and those slapstick bracelets. zack morris still looks good...in a '90s jake ryan, bayside kind of way. this video pretty much made my day.

another one to move the masses...

one by one.

i'm a strong advocate for the eternal youth, the lucky souls who grow up, but NEVER grow old. i believe that we should always look to the stars and dream big, with the same optimistic, innovative passion we had when we sported double-velcro reeboks and scrunchies. hence, the first tattoo i ever got-a permanent reminder to always stay young at heart. hence, my need to share this video by grasshopper.com:

do what makes you happy & let's make moves!

have a beautiful one.

put a cork in it!

no longer just the annoying stopper stalling you from that nightly glass of Two-buck Chuck, CORK is now making its way into the fashion world. the look & texture of cork is a fresh take, especially in these eco-conscious days (i mean, the neon-flecked strappy platforms are freakn HOT!), but i also kinda want to just take a thumbtack and pin a to-do list to it. very amused.

The coolest chick on the block...

Photo: CBBC Newsround

....after last night's 2009 Grammy's show, is MIA. The girl impressively held her own with the "Rap Pack" of Hip Hop (Jay Z, Kanye, TI, and Lil' Wayne), PLUS she did it 9 months pregnant...on her baby's due date! I loved the incredulous expression on everyone's faces!

Last night's charming performance officially makes MIA one of the coolest chicks ever in my book!

Check out MIA as she performs "Swagger Like Us" with the Rap Pack...and a very pregnant belly:

I'm amused...

I found this necklace by jewelry designer, Tom Binns, on Style.com's Most Wanted List today. I love the humor in it. I love pieces that make me smile...sometimes laugh, even. Fashion is fashion and shouldn't be taken too seriously. I'm all about designers who feel the same way!
