Classic all-American rock'n'roll reminiscent of the 70's mixing it up with some modern girl edge. Ms. Grace Potter, a musical force who rocks it out on a Hammond B3 organ (among other instruments), fronts this Vermont-based blues/rock jam band. Her raspy, soulful voice rings clear and defiant. The band's toured with such rock'n'roll acts as Gov't Mule and The Black Crowes. And I'm just totally diggin their vibe. Trackin these guys for sure because from what I've seen, I'm guessing their pretty incredible live. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, ladies and gentlemen. Check'em out:

inglorious basterds
america's answer to the greek gods walked the red carpet in smouldering perfection at the premiere of brad's new tarantino flick, Inglorious Basterds. brad, oozing sensual nonchalance in a great blacks suit & stunna shades. angelina, looking the hotness in a little black dress...done in leather...as only she could. and in true badass fashion, she accessorizes the little leather number with sky-high patent heels and a few well-placed tattoos.

the hotness...
As if the strong shoulder jacket wasn't badass enough, Decarnin had to go and do it in quilted leather...with chain detailing. I mean, this jacket is incredible. Rock it casual for day with my favorites - white tank & distressed skinnies - or class it up at night with a sheer black blouse, a great pair of slim cropped trousers, & an insane pair of bright heels.

Heroes get remembered, but legends never die...

Michael Jackson (August 29, 1958-June 25, 2009)

MJ's the shit. Just can't mess with the guy. Often imitated, never duplicated-Michael Jackson is, and always will be, THE King of Pop. And to this day, no one even comes closing to nabbing the "Prince of Pop" title. Musically, one of the greatest innovators, fusing rock & soul into one incredibly distinct sound. His choreography was sexual and raw, but so smooth and so uniquely him. And don't get me started on his style. It was ALL about the details-from the infamous embellished glove, to the perfectly dipped fedora, the red motorcycle jacket, the motorcycle pants, the layers of belts...probably, hands down, one of the sickest closets to raid.
(To checkout MJ's insane wardrobe, click HERE .)
And then there's the countless good times I've had jammin' out to classic MJ. I remembe

MJ is legendary.
His soul will forever thrive through his music - music that has changed the world too greatly to ever die or be forgotten.

Wardrobe!
Alas, if only I had the the financial means to fund my style addiction. Instead, I get my fix by materializing my daydreams at polyvore.com - finding pieces to refine my style, creating my perfect wardrobe - the ultimate closet.
Notice I say "style," not "fashion". I love, covet the pieces that resonate with me, not the trends exhausted by magazine headlines. I appreciate style as an art form. Style has the potential to act as an extension of the soul - the same way the culmination of individual life experiences fuel the artist's unique aesthetic or the musician's lyrics & sound. When you can learn something new about a person, gain a little insight into what inspires them, drives them, merely based on what they're wearing...it's not just clothes or fashion anymore...it's STYLE.
So here's a little dani.dan soul for you...WHAT'S IT SAY ABOUT ME?

Top5 Things I Miss the Most Right Now
This site, soulpancake.com, posts questions/bits of insight daily that are supposed to make you think. It's a cool little website cuz I totally dig all that introspective shit, which either heightens my self-awareness or just makes me incredibly vain. Anyway, periodically, I will post my personal responses/reactions to the prompts.
So....
Top5 Things I Miss the Most Right Now
1) Chillin with all the Baylors - doing absolutely nothing, but being completely content.
2) Standing in some dark little bar, with a Hef in hand, getting completely lost in incredible live music.
3) Wake'n'bakin...multiple times. Rippin Oreo.
4) SD beaches & their respective sunsets
5) The unwavering optimism of a carefree, intrepid youth.
